| January 25, 2010 | Back by Popular Demand - “Then & Now” Lighthouse Guild is pleased and proud to announce the 2nd Annual “Then & Now” presentation at the upcoming guild meeting on Monday, January 25th. “Then & Now” features ten of our very own members, each telling the story of how and why she progressed from her "Then" quilt to her "Now" quilt. You're sure to be enlightened, inspired, and entertained. This program is back by popular demand. You loved it last year, and many of you asked that we feature "our own" in this format every year. The ten presenters are Judy Barnes, Regina Scott Brookes, Cindy Garcia, Joyce Herringer, Cecilia Johnson, Pat Limburg, Marie Raymond, Sue Scheckel, Jackie Tomkins, and Mary Lou Wendzinski. | February 22, 2010 | Shoot 'Em to Protect 'Em: Taking Care of YOUR Quilts Sandy Schweitzer Let’s face it – your quilts are precious items. You spent a lot of time and creative energy making your quilts and they should be treasured. Our February speaker, Sandy Schweitzer, will share lots of information about how to take care of quilts. Sandy, a quilt historian, quilt designer and certified quilt appraiser will give us tips about labels and the importance of photographing quilts. She says “Shoot 'em to protect 'em!!” Her presentation will also include a trunk show. Patented in 1846, the original sewing machine is a far cry from the machine you're using today. Sylvia will tell us fascinating stories about the inventors and the machines. She will also bring part of her sewing machine collection and she'll let you try them! |

| May 24, 2010 | Guild Mini Classes: Resident Experts to Tease Tantalize, and Teach Lighthouse Guild Members Attendees at the Lighthouse Quilters Guild meeting will be treated to a series of mini-classes by fellow guild members. These resident experts will each present their topic four times; guild members will rotate and be able to hear all of the presentations at some time during the meeting. The four presenters and their topics are:

| June 28, 2010 | Kit Quilts Rosie Werner Kit quilts are those bright, pretty quilts we see from the middle of the 20th century. The kits came in many different ways; drawn, precut, or just fabric. Rose Marie has been documenting these quilts for many years. She will bring a trunk of kit quilts to show you and to explain how they came to be such treasured pieces. | August 30, 2010 | Dancing on Your Quilt Ann Fahl Ann will show us how to prepare a quilt for machine quilting, and how she dances on her quilts! This will be of interest for quilters of all levels. Her PowerPoint presentation will include lots of full photos and juicy close ups of her new quilts. Based on her new book, “Dancing with Thread”.
