Welcome to Lighthouse Quilters Guild

The Lighthouse Quilter's Guild is a non-profit 501C-4 organization. The purposes of the guild are to promote the art of quilt making and related textile areas; to provide educational opportunities; to encourage the sharing of members' talents and fellowship; to share the quilting arts with the community; and to preserve our quilting heritage.

2008 Raffle Quilt

Lighthouse Quilt Guild has received permission from Judy Niemeyer to use her paper-pieced pattern for Arrowhead Crossing as their 2008 raffle quilt. It is made of high quality Batik fabric and machine quilted by Pat Barry, the quilter who literally wrote the book on long-arm quilting.

Tickets will be available soon.

Speaker for the August meeting

Suzanne Myers Otto has been quilting for over thirty years. Suzanne particularly loves the wearable art branch of the quilting tree. Her garments have won many awards, been juried into national shows, and have traveled with challenge exhibits sponsored by Hoffman and Kaufman fabric companies.

Suzanne retired from her "day" job at UW-Madison in February of this year. A young retiree (at 55), she now pursues her love of all things quilt-related on a fulltime basis! "Art to Wear with a Quilter’s Flare!" will feature a trunk show of approx. 35 garments. Suzanne promises an entertaining and good-humored look at her ongoing journey through the world of quilted clothing. She will share techniques used and lessons learned while creating her colorful clothing.

A sampling of Suzanne's garments can be seen at http://portalwisconsin.org/ (look her up under “Textiles” or by her last name of Otto).
